In a world of ever-advancing technology we often look to new innovations to help us streamline our business practices or to find new ways to do old things. While AI can be a tricky subject it can legitimately help you to improve your business flow with proper utilization, freeing up your time to do what you do best: giving your clients your full attention and them their best looks. There are, of course, things that should and shouldn’t be done with AI implementation, and we’re here to help break down some of those dos and don’ts.
DO:
Use AI for Marketing Copy
Sometimes creating a slogan or drafting up a sales pitch can be daunting, especially if you find yourself suffering from a bout of writer’s block. AI programs can help with generating some ideas that you can, in turn, craft into something that perfectly expresses the message you want to send. Be sure to proofread and edit what’s generated however, as AI can produce incomplete or repetitive messages.
Use AI for Appointments and Inventory Management
Using AI to help manage appointments, booking, and to automate some tasks like maintaining inventory levels can be a smart way to free up everyone’s time. A well-managed system can also help to see what products are moving the most, which have no legs, and help to manage what’s needed to meet demand for current trends. Having a sort of virtual assistant answering commonly asked questions can be helpful as well.
Use AI for Problem Solving Ideas
One potentially great use of AI is for idea generation. It can help to come up with promotional events, examine the buying habits of your clients and the market at large, and generate ideas for blog posts or social media posts. While it can’t fully replicate the human touch, it can help when the idea well begins to run dry.

DON’T:
Use AI for Images
While AI can be a useful tool to create marketing copy, using it for marketing images is another matter. Keeping things real is key in the beauty industry, and using an AI image can send the wrong message and create unrealistic expectations. If you’d like to share before and after pictures to show off your work, ask some of your clients to be the stars rather than having a fictional character generated that doesn’t really show what you can do.
Use AI to Replace Employees
One of the biggest arguments against the use of AI is that it’s here to replace people and put them out of jobs. AI should be used to help your receptionists or other employees rather than replace them. Should someone on your team have more free time due to the implementation of one AI system or another, they can be utilized elsewhere, or they could have free time to further develop their own skills.
Use AI for All Data Analysis and Decisions
While AI can help to generate ideas, manage inventory and appointments, and answer questions, it isn’t infallible. Sometimes computers make mistakes and it’s up to people to catch and correct those errors. Ultimately, while AI systems can help you streamline and improve your business flow, it’s your human expertise and that of your team that makes it work properly. After all, it’s you and your team that are the experts.
